Lancôme's Christmas Launch: Going for Gold

Lancôme's Christmas Launch: Going for Gold
By Beaut.ie  | Nov 3, 2015

Halloween is over, we are officially allowed to talk about Christmas! Yay!

I can't say that I've made my list yet but with the huge amount of gift ideas from our favourite beauty brands, inspiration is not far from our reach. I'll be trying and testing all of the best gift sets over the next few weeks but I have to start with a range for the most wonderful time of the year from Lancôme.

Taking its colour scheme from a secret Parisian garden, you can expect lots of gold with a hint of festive red velvet. So fear not, you will certainly sparkle. But just the right amount, not like disco ball levels of sparkle.

The L'Absolu Palette, a limited edition eye and lip palette is a hand bag must-have thanks to its slim line packaging and a nice balance of colours for eyes and lips. The six shadows range from naturals to darker pigments like bronze to create the perfect smokey eye for the Christmas.

Add to that two luscious lip colours and I reckon it's very good value for €55. And you also get a decent high quality double ended brush for application.

This range is not without a little fun, and the Hypnôse Star gold top coat mascara (€27.50) should be worn to everything this Christmas. I mentioned gold was a signature and this is the perfect example of how to get it into your eye make up routine with ease.

I applied a black mascara first, then added this to it before it dried to give a little sparkle to my lashes. I think this is a lovely stocking filler for any beauty junkie.

If you want to co-ordinate your nails to your lashes, try the Vernis in Love glossy shine nail lacquer in cool gold that has a glittery texture. Use this as a top coat over any of the other gorgeous colours in the range including Rouge Midnight and Prune Rêve (€19.50).

The Christmas Colour collection also includes a limited edition Poudre de Lumière loose powder that has long been a favourite finishing powder of mine. Now this version has a shimmer so if you want to radiate, this is for you. This works really well on the central features of your face, so glide this along the bridge of your nose and even lightly on your chest to highlight your, ahem, décolleté. I also like the liner that has a bronze hue to it, that can be worn on it's own or to complement a smokey eye (as I have demonstrated above!)

All the above are lovely luxurious gifts for anyone in your life who lives for beauty (i.e. me) and if you are organised, unlike me, and want to start your Christmas shopping, the range will be available at Lancôme counters in selected department stores from this month.

What's on your Christmas beauty wishlist? Let us know and we can try it out!
