Our favourite times celebrities wore their own collections

There’s nothing like a bit of shameless self-promotion, and when we see a celebrity wearing their own design and looking genuinely good that makes us want it more than any ad ever could. A lot of shops bump up the price tag when there’s a celebrity name attached so we want to feel like the star since we're paying extra for it. Take a look at the times a celebrity wore their own collection better than a model ever could.

Zendaya

At the Kids Choice Awards a few weeks back, most people assumed she was wearing something designer, so when we found out it was part of her Daya by Zendaya line and cost a mere $38 we were pleasantly surprised. With most of the clothing line coming in at under $100, it is refreshing to have a celebrity collection that doesn't overcharge us just to have their name attached.

Melissa McCarthy

Before becoming the actress and comedian we all know and love, Melissa studied fashion at college. So when she struggled to find designers that would dress her on the red carpet as a plus sized woman, she decided to solve the problem herself. Her clothing line Seven7 uses bold prints and flattering shapes on everything from jeans to jumpsuits and we're so happy her flair for design wasn't wasted.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham’s collections are so popular because you can picture her wearing the items, the tailored jackets and long pencil skirts are what her style is all about. You might write off her designs as only suiting a certain shape, but with Eva Longoria, Anna Kendrick and Kate Winslet wearing them (to name a few), they don't just flatter one body type. We particularly love this tee she was seen in last week - we love it when she shows her funny side.

Lauren Conrad

Filled with pale and pastel shades, Lauren's collections for Kohl's are all about femininity. We love that she knows her own style and you can see it in her designs. This silk gown she wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards is the perfect example.

Gwen Stefani

The singer founded her clothing line L.A.M.B in 2003 and has wearing the items with pride ever since. Known for it's graphic prints and bold colours, she will wear her designs as a showstopper on the red carpet or when she's out with her kids. She has said that she prefers to wear her own designs and frequently works them being a judge on The Voice US and we have to say, no one wears it better.

Kate Moss

She has had several collaborations with high giant Topshop and is constantly showcasing her designs while out and about. She has helped create a stunning selection of pieces over the years, in particular her With leather jackets, coats and glitzy evening-wear - they have Kate Moss written all over it.
