Finding Tangle Teezer utter rubbish: what am I doing wrong?

tangle teezer

Tangle Teezer now available as an orange lump of plastic instead of a pink one. Scream!

By now the lump of plastic with teeth, invented by Shaun P, hairdresser to the stars etc,  resides in many homes.  Response to this invention seems remarkably positive - so much so that it has apparently "taken the hair care world by storm" and has "revolutionised" hair brushing.

The unique configuration of teeth promises to smooth out tangles effortlessly and make hair shiner and smoother.  As time goes on hair will be less damaged and easier to manage.

Sounds great.

"It will effortlessly glides through the hair" says Shaun P the hairdresser creator of this marvel - and we've had rave reviews on this very site about it.

Except that it does none of that for me.  My hair is  long and thick and it has an absolute mind of its own.  It laughs in the face of the Tangle Teezer  and demands a good stern brushing from a Denman brush.  A wide tooth comb gets through wet hair tangles more easily.  And I don't brush my dry hair that often anyway - it leads to frizz, hair tantrums and is best avoided.

The Tangle Teezer is way too expensive for what it is.  It must cost about 5p to make - no wonder Shaun P is able to spend so much money on magazine "awards" and product placement.

Is the Tangle Teezer a storm in a marketing mans teacup?  Or am I doing something wrong?  Do others feel this way too about their Tangle Teezer?  Am I the only one who finds it utter crap?
