Huge congrats to Donal Skehan who is due to start hosting Saturday Kitchen this coming weekend. Indeed James Martin has finally left his post after a decade at the helm. Martin reportedly resigned back in February, with budgetary cuts believed to be motivation behind the move.
Previous hosts of the Saturday morning staple of cookery and chat (the host usually cooks alongside another chef, while a celeb sits there waiting to seamlessly promote something and two members of the public wait to be fed at another table off to the far right) include Gregg Wallace, and Antony Worrall Thompson.
Given Skehan's been a judge on Junior Masterchef, this move to Saturday Kitchen is an obvious choice - even if he is a lot more fresh of face than his predecessors.

Speaking via The Irish Times, he said: "Saturday Kitchen has become an insitution at the BBC and a big part of many people’s weekend routine. There is huge pressure, but I’m really excited about the challenge of a live show and looking forward to cooking some delicious dishes."
The article adds: "Skehan will be the third in a series of guest presenters – following on from chef Michel Roux junior and former model, TV presenter and cookbook author Lorraine Pascale – to take the helm of the 90 minute show, which is filmed live."
