It's true. The pictures are below to prove it. Yes, we shouldn't care as The X Files was about so much more than the 'will they/won't they' relationship between partners Mulder and Scully, or was it? WAS IT?
The pair got together Tuesday night at New York's Cutting Room where David Duchovny was debuting his new album (yes, he makes music now). For an encore, he got his former partner in crime Gillian Anderson to come up on stage to perform a cover of Neil Young's Helpless.
There they are now, having a bit of a singalong...
And THE BANTZ.
And.. the KISS!
A close up... n'aww. (Is this getting weird?)
Just like this though really...
It was recently announced that a new series of the show would be returning to our screens next January, fourteen years after it first went off air. The pair were one of sci-fi's biggest couples back in the day, and even had a child together. A fact that we, and indeed Gillian herself, had completely forgotten about.
Anderson told E News recently; "'I'm a little bit nervous about it because I want it to be really good, but I need to find the right time. Apparently, we had a child, which was conceived in the episode I wrote and directed, so I shouldn't be too shocked, but I kind of forgot about it for a while and had to be reminded...William is like 14 now, so I'm sure he'll show up at some point. That's about all I know.'
Side note, both David and Gillian are single now, with David and actress Tea Leoni divorcing last year while Gillian split from her boyfriend Mark Griffiths in 2012. What? We are JUST SAYING.
Did you watch the X-Files back in the day? Are you excited to see Mulder and Scully ride again?
