The Adventures of Allie & Noah? The Notebook Might Become a TV Series!

There's no denying that 2004's The Notebook has become one of the quintessential romance movies of our time, whether you liked it or not. (Just admit it already, you loved it.)

Set in 1940s America, it starred a young Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, and followed the life-long love story of Noah and Allie. It was based on the Nicholas Sparks book of the same name, and can be blamed for every terrible Nicholas Sparks movie you have had to sit through since.

Now there's talk that this epic (yes, EPIC) love story could be turned into a TV series by American network CW, who has also brought the world Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Reign and Jane The Virgin.

It's thought the show would focus in on the movie's missing years, and centre on a Noah and Allie building their lives in post-war North Carolina, with Sparks set to serve as the series executive producer if it goes ahead.

Speaking at the Television Critics' Association summer press tour in the US, CW President Mark Pedowitz said: "The Notebook is a very well-received book and motion picture. It is going to be set after World War II. At this point, the pilot is not done. I don't believe we're going to see the older couple - what they become - but again, things change and we're just now in the development stage."
