Fresh, fruity and floral: the scent of summer. What's your favourite summer fragrance?

Well while summer may taste of ice cream, Bulmers Pear and sandy sambos from days spent on the strand (fingers crossed) - summer is set to smell fresh, fruity and floral.

If you're adjusting your fragrance wardrobe for the season that is.

Lots of the fragrance brands bring out summery versions of their scents: Miss Sixty Summer* (a fruity floral) Paul Smith Sunshine Woman* (top notes of citrus and a floral heart) and Paul Smith Rose Summer Edition*; Givenchy Very Irresistable Summer Cocktail* (florals, shaken not stirred) - and the celebs get in on the act too of course, check out Kate Summer Time*. Now apparently this perfume "represents the sensual side and femininity of Kate Moss, as well as summer games and positive energy introduced by summer period."

Kate Moss? Say again? I don't exactly associate her with summer games and positive energy do you? If I had to imagine she smells like anything I would assume it was stale fags, vodka dregs and left over pizza. Nothing further than fresh and floral can I imagine

But Kate aside, basically all these fragrances are lighter, fresher variations of the originals and are marketed especially to give us that "ooh it's summer!" feeling. The idea is of course that we can toss our musky, heavier scents to the back of the er wardrobe and disrobe with these summer scents, just like we do with our summer clothes.

Rose dominated scents like the Scarlett Johansson promoted Dolce and Gabanna Rose The One* are huge this year and this is the floral note that's dominating.

Do you change your perfume in summer - and which one is your favourite?
