Giorgio Armani Heat for Summer 2011

Giorgio Armani Heat for Summer 2011
By Beaut.ie  | May 19, 2011

Armani's summer edit this year is elegant, classy and capsule. If you're a nude and neutrals fan then you'll love the look of it - and you'll need deep pockets because Giorgio Armani beauty does not come cheap.  You've another payday to save up though - the collection doesn't arrive on counter until June 1st.

This is the Eye Quatuor palette in 01 Bronze, €58.50. Sheeny, satin shades are the order of the day here and the brand says they've gotten some whizz-bang technology on board. "The unique jet-milled eye shadow formula, with a translucent base, has been created by means of an unprecedented color technology. The formulation combines color impact, improved payoff and exceptional layering properties. This extremely fine film of vibrant eye color blends perfectly to produce made to measure incandescent color without creasing or a dull powdery finish." There you go, now.

One of four lipsticks in the Heat collection, this is Sheer Lipstick in Sunset Pink (36), and it's €24.  The other colours in-coming are Sienna Red Brick (34), Burnt Coral (35) and Sand Dune Beige (37)

I got two pieces from the collection ahead of the launch, one of the brand's beautiful Blushing Fabric creamy, siliconey blushers and one of the sheer lipsticks. The shades I was sent are Burnt Umber (04) in Blushing Fabric, a deep brick red, and Burnt Coral in the Sheer Lipstick.

And here are some swatches: Blushing Fabric is on the left -  despite being a product I really like and use anyway - in this shade it just doesn't work for me. I'm too pale for Burnt Umber but hey, on a sallower skin or with a tan it could work well.  On the right is a slick of Sheer Lipstick in Burnt Coral.

Oh me oh my, this is gawjus. Now, do note that this pic was taken with flash so this is a good deal less glossy in daylight. It's a very nice my-lips-but-better semi-sheer fairly glossy lip slick that I took a shine to right away. Very easy to wear, it fits this season's trend for this lipstick type nicely.

There are a couple of other bits landing as part of the Heat collection too, like Tawny Red Sand (48) nail polish, €19, and an Eyes to Kill mascara in 03 Bronze, €29.

Anything catch your eye?
