Ooh me grapes

Ooh me grapes

Ah, two haemmoroid based jokes in the space of one week. Truly I spoil you.

L'Occitane is a French company based in Provence, who have been making lovely, gorgeously packaged and naturally inspired products for 30 years. There are a couple of shops in Dublin and more nationwide, and for some reason I've never paid them that much attention until recently, but now I think I'll be hooked.

In particular I like the sound of the Grape range they've launched fairly recently. It was "inspired by a French tradition of detoxing by eating only grapes for several days, which deeply cleanses and revitalises after too much rich food and too many long hours. The five stages of L’Occitane’s grape treatment work together to produce softer skin and better lymphatic drainage."

So basically you can buy this range and let it do all the nasty Carol Vorderman style detoxing whilst still eating crisps and going to the pub. Score! What's even better is that the products are enriched with organic grape juice from Domaine des Tuile Bleues, which is a grape farm near the Provencal village of Ansouis. I know it well.

And what might these products be? Well, the Grape range consists of a number of treatment products that target specific areas and which you can use in the bath or shower. I am taken with the Anti Water Retention Gel, which you use on your legs to improve skin tone and appearance. What a shame there is no Anti Cake Retention Gel though. There's a Crushed-Grape Polish which gently sloughs away dead cells, stimulates microcirculation and helps eliminate cellular waste. Yay!

What else? The Warming Body Wrap is an at-home spa product which reacts with water molecules and triggers a self-heating action that stimulates microcirculation. This helps to elimination toxins and soften skin. You use it once a week on the areas that often need help (oh you're telling me) - stomach, arse and thighs. There's also a shower oil and a moisturising milk in the range.

L'Occitane recommend that you try the range over 30 days to see the best results. Prices range from £13.50 - £22.50 STG.
