Peachy Keen: A Splurge v Steal Lipstick Dupe

Peachy Keen: A Splurge v Steal Lipstick Dupe

Everyone loves a good lipstick dupe and today I am comparing some peachy keen shades, a Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in #102 which comes in at €31.50 and NYC New York Colour Expert Last Lip Colour in #448 which is just €2.49 saving you a total of €29.01! Lemme here a whoop whoop!

Now, similar to every luxury lipstick dupe out there, there is a slight colour difference between the pair but I always find that using a lipliner in a shade similar to the colour of the luxury lipstick to colour in the entire lip prior to application always helps to match up the colours pretty well.

Starting with the Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani. One of Armani's best sellers, this long-wearing lipstick boasts an 8 hour-hold on the lips. It has a really creamy, soft texture which leaves lips feeling nourished and hydrated throughout the day. It's comfortable to wear with a high-shine and doesn't feather outside of the lipline or fade during wear. It's available in 26 mouth-watering shades and will set you back €31.50 in Brown Thomas. A real splurge I know, but worth the treat if it's for your wedding makeup or an upcoming special occasion. (Hint-Hint to all the chief bridesmaids out there!)

I love the shade of the Armani one as it's a really deep peach but I found a really similar peachy shade in the NYC New York Color range. It's slightly off, but I knew I could make it work by setting it on top of a natural pink lipliner.

I am using #448 Smooth Beige and underneath I have coloured in the lip with NYX Cosmetics lipliner in Natural. This expert last satin-matte lipstick is part of an all-new collection of five satin matte shades that won't dry out or crack on the lips. The creamy formula contains ultra-hydrating properties that leave lips feeling smooth, hydrate and moisturised throughout the day. They also have an amazing pigmentation for a lipstick that costs just €2.49. Colouring in the lip with a lipliner prior to application is also a good way to prevent feathering and bleeding outside the lip line.

I know they don't look exactly the same but pinkness of the lipliner adds a fleshy colour to the beige undertone of the NYC. And with a saving of €29.01, I'm sure you would live with the slight colour difference. Which one is your favourite?
