Glossier Lidstar eyeshadows are the lazy gal's next best beauty buy

If you haven't already heard, Glossier, the much talked about American makeup and skincare brand, can now be purchased from Ireland - and we are loving Lidstar.

Lidstar eyeshadows are little cream eyeshadows in a test tube. At a first look, we loved the clean, girly, pink and white packaging and the colours looked delightful. However, nobody tends to get too excited about cream eyeshadows, usually. They are a bit of a blah product that have been letting us down for years. There is a recipe for a successful cream eyeshadow, though, and Glossier hit the nail on the head.

The recipe to a great liquid or cream eyeshadow is longevity, non-crease-ability and ease of use. Lidstar is winning in all three categories. They are extremely easy to apply. So easy that when I got mine I decided to pat a little on in the bar I was sitting in to see what it was like and I was able to put it on perfectly. I used my ring finger to pat on a touch of 'Lily', a gorgeous pink/lilac shimmer. It was so easy. I just patted it on the centre of my lid and then buffed the edges with my finger a touch and it gave my eyes an instant lift. A little shimmer always brightens the whites of your eyes and the colour was really subtle and girly.

Instructions: Foolproof

Things to note
  • The colour payoff is sheer. This means they are easy to apply and you can't really mess it up. However, if you are looking for a really strong, pigmented eyeshadow, this is not that kind of look.
  • They dry quickly. This is a massive plus in my eyes. I don't think a cream eyeshadow should stay creamy, ever. These are easy to blend out and as soon as you stop patting and blending they dry, not to move again.
  • They are really easy to use. As the instructions say, dab a little on with the doe-foot applicator and pat it out with your finger. Simple.
  • There are six shades in the range Herb, Fawn, Slip, Moon, Lily and Cub with Fawn and Herb being the smokier shades.
  • Moon makes a gorgeous long-lasting, creamy highlighter
