Trend Alert: Pink to Make the Style Set Wink

Trend Alert: Pink to Make the Style Set Wink

Love or loathe it, pink is IN this autumn. Pinks of all shades and hues will dominate the clothes rails, just you wait and see.

The only way I wear pink is on my lips although I did consider buying a pale pink Grace Kelly-esque coat last winter until every second gal about town was draped in one. That's the worst (and ah, most obvious) thing about trends; 99% of the population follow them.

The pink trend that's inevitably headed our way, however, is very broad. You'll have your pick of 50 shades of pink and more when the time comes and you won't have to restrict yourself to coats. Items of every type will come in fushia or raspberry or rose or baby...

It annoys me when people judge pink clad ladies as being superficial or silly; pink can be sultry, sexy and oh so very stylish.

Proving my point are Farida Khelfa Seydoux and Carice Van Houten who I spied at the Schiaparelli at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture A/W 15 show, making pink seriously chic.

The style of Carice Van Houten's two piece reminds me of the outfit my grandmother  wore to my christening a million years ago and that's a good thing. My nana was a very classy lady. The almost matching lip colour and toenail polish are really pushing the pink but dammit, it's hot.

There's no right or wrong way to wear pink this coming autumn/winter. Wear head to toe like Carice (who is a Dutch actress and singer in case you were wondering) or with one show stopping piece like her photo-mate Farida Khelfa Seydoux, or with a simple slick of lippy.

Are you a lover of pink? Do you already own loads of pink clothes? Or might you introduce pink into your wardrobe this coming season?
