Volvo Launch Nail Polish. No, Really

Volvo Launch Nail Polish. No, Really
By Beaut.ie  | Sep 13, 2010

You may have heard  a whiff about this elsewhere on the blogosphere as this trio of Volvo nail polishes launched earlier this year globally, but as the car they were created to support (the S60) only launches in Ireland now, we're getting our first look at Volvo's small nail enamel edit.

It's a fun idea and one that's designed to appeal to women who are key car-purchase influencers. These shades are available on the S60 as well,  and I did wonder initially if Volvo hadn't just put some actual motor paint into the bottles. Nail polish fanatics probably won't like the formulations of these - the black in particular was very claggy and hard to work with and it needed three coats for decent intensity. The silver is the pick of the bunch, and the bronze shade seemed to also have black's dragging problem.

But look - Volvo ain't Essie so while there's definitely a case of stick to what you're good at with these, I am sure the resultant column inches generated off the back of what is a clever marketing idea will keep Volvo more than happy.

I had a play with them and came up with a look - it's after the cut.

Interested? €16.90's the damage and you'll find 'em at Volvo dealers now.
