Irish Politician Makes The Cut In World's Sexiest List!*

It's been an dramatic few days for Irish politics. Never mind the storms raging over phone-number salaries and pensions and the threat of crippling strikes looming large (oh my!), it's Cowengate that's watercooler topico numero uno.

While that particular debacle still has - ehem - legs, one Irish politician has been flying the flag for our national good looks on the international stage.

Sinn Féin Councillor Toiréasa Ferris, a 30-year-old Kerry native, rocked in at number 7 in a list of the Most Beautiful Female Politicians, compiled through a public online poll on the website of Spanish newspaper 20 Minutos.

And although her likeness may not grace the new-look Beaut.ie banner, Sarah Palin made the list at number 24, while Hilary Clinton popped up at number 34. The only other name on the list that rang any bells for me was former French Presdential candidate Ségolène Royal (ah go on, you do remember her), who was at number 36.
