7 beauty buys to beat weather that wants to melt your face off

Summer is the time to be dreaming of oceans dips, building sandcastles and sipping poolside cocktails. Of course, so far our summer has consisted of rain, sunshine, more rain and my least favourite: humidity.

No one wants to look like they applied make-up made from melted butter but sadly it can feel that way – so what can we do to avoid looking like either a drowned rat or sweaty betty? Thankfully there are some great products to help combat the ol' melty face so here are a few of my favourites but if you've any let me know!

Top Shop Cheek Jelly: Fresh and light, these are perfect for anyone who wants that summery, fresh skin feel. (€10)

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Peach Sheer Tint SPF15: This has been keeping my pout in tip-top condition while also protecting against sun damage which I love. I double this up as a cheek tint too (€4.99)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer: Banish dark circles and pigmentation with this long wear formula that performs well in extreme heat and wet conditions (€26.50)

NYC Lip Stains: I find it’s always handy to have a lip stain in your bag for on the go top ups, my favourite NYC one is “Unstoppable Red”.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzers: Available in three shades, these bronzers leave a soft shimmer to skin rather than anything too glittery which is always good if you’re over 12! The powder itself is soft so doesn’t drag on skin the way that some budget bronzers can. (€4.99)

STILA

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks: A huge range of colours are available, great news for anyone who loves a strong lip colour that doesn’t budge regardless of whether you’re drinking cocktails or hitting the beach. (€22)

Rimmel ScandalEyes Pencils: Easy to blend and smooth to apply, Rimmel hit the nail on the head with these pencils. For added staying power, add a touch of powder on top. (€4.99)
