Ask & You Shall Receive - Fake Tan For The Face

aqua flashBeaut.ie reader Louisa has just moved to Paris with her French beau and needs some advice to help her keep up with all those chic Parisian women. In particular, she's looking for a facial self tanner that won't clog her pores and cause spots. Paris is already sweltering and she doesn't "want to wear make up every day. In any case it melts right off after an hour. I love the healthy glow that I get from a fake tan but it is causing havoc with my skin".

So can we help this Irish lass take on the belles of France? Oh we surely can. Have you thought about trying Olay's Complete Everyday Sunshine with SPF15? It's a moisturiser with a hint of self tan, and it shouldn't cause you to break out.

If you don't like the sound of that, try a tanning water. Clarins Intense Bronze Self Tanning Tint is a great product that you apply using cotton wool. It'll give you quite a dark colour though, so my tip is to put it on before bed and then exfoliate the next morning for a softer, more realistic effect. For paler skins I love Lancome's Aqua Flash Bronzer - it's very similar to the Clarins water but it's paler, so might work better for you. Put it on at night too, and in the morning exfoliate back for the perfect finish.

The advantage of using a water is your skin won't be clogged with product, and you can maintain your regular skincare routine too, ensuring minimal disruption.
