Ask & You Shall Receive - Purse Friendly Moisturiser

Karen contacted us to ask if we could help end her search for a good purse friendly product for her dehydrated skin. She's a self confessed "long standing beautie junkie and spendaholic" who now finds herself "in the situation of being a mum of one little two year old, and another scheduled for arrival next week". Needless to say her beauty shopping funds are at an all time low. She doesn't want to let it all go because she's a mum, and we say proper order to that, and big congrats on the imminent new arrival!

olayI betcha loads of readers are now thinking "oh I so know what she's gonna say here", and yes, they would be right. I'm going to give a big thumbs up to Olay. Their Complete Care range is fantastic, contains SPF 15 and is just really really effective - and it's under a tenner! it comes in a fluid (left) or a thicker cream, so depending on which type you like, it generally suits everyone. There really isn't another brand to compete with it in this price bracket - and it's way better than a lot of pricer moisturisers too.

However, and this is the reason I stopped using it - it's tested on animals. If this is a concern for you, then how about one of elave's products? Their Intensive Cream is a snip at €7.99 and contains no irrirants like phalates, parabens or fragrance, so it won't irritate dry, stressed skin. It's widely available in pharmacies too.

I blogged recently about the Body Shop Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream, which is also really affordable at about €12. I was moaning that the only drawback to it was a lack of an SPF, but I recently say it in a tube (but without the illuminating bit) with an SPF of 15. It'll probably be about €13.
Let us know if you go for one of these and how you get on with it!
