Candy Talking: Make Up Store 5ifties for Summer 2010

There are some gorgeous bits in pretty pastels in-store from Swedish brand Make Up Store at the mo - this is a pro/semi-pro line that gives Mac and Make Up For ever a run for its money in terms of shade choice and formulations. Prices are what I'd call mid - shadows are in the €14 range, for example, but you tend to get a lot of product for your money. Only at Arnotts for now, here's a little look at some of their new-season stuff.

Under the sun,  Stray, Upper East and Bubble are some new eye shadows. Quick swatches gave me the impression that these are all fairly medium-pigmented, and cost €14.50 each. Stray is a particularly nice subtle pewter. Venus and Stardust, left, are cream highlighters, €17. Venus will work well on warm skintones as it's quite golden, and Stardust is the one I'd probably plump for personally as it's more silvery - of course, with a tan, Venus would be really lovely too. Very nice!

This gives you a good idea of the pan size compared to the Apple logo on my laptop lid, and also how cleverly the cases are made - you can entirely lift the lid off blushers and shadows, which makes them excellent for makeup artists, and means you can get your brush in at the pans top-down. This is blush in Must Have, and it's €18. I've noted before how well-pigmented these are, so a light hand is definitely required!

Lastly, three lipsticks: Trip and Peachy are creme formulations with good coverage, and Crisp is a sheer red that's a good pick for anyone afeared of that full-on opaque red lip that's very hard to brave if you're a novice. It's also a good summer red. Each costs €17.

Like anything? Have you checked out any of the line's products yet? What did you think?
