Oh dear. I do this all the time, and I know I'm not alone.
I rarely use nail varnish remover, and do you know why? Cos I always pick it back off. A complete fidgeter, I can never ever leave a fresh mani alone. Probably one of the worst things you can do to your nails, picking varnish off removes the top layer of the nail, weakening it and leading to all the problems I complain about - weak nails that split and break really easily.
