Hurray for summer, and all the lovely things it stands for! Things like beer gardens, festivals, fruit pastille ice lollies and, of course, a chance to shake up our beauty routines. These products are adding a dash of new season sparkle to long hot sunny days:
Chanel Cristalle Eau Vert
A green, citrussy floral, this is my favourite summer fragrance - I wore it on my wedding day, and this bottle is on its third and final summer. With notes of honeysuckle, magnolia, lemon, bergamot, neroli and jasmine, it was love at first sniff. There isn't a matching body lotion, so for longevity I layer it with any citrussy lotion I have to hand. This has been my hot weather fragrance for years but I recently discovered a scent I love almost as much. That's a story for another day...
Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine
We told you about Bobbi's summer collection here and the limited edition Treatment Lip Shines, €24, called my name the loudest. A cross between a lipstick and a treatment, these are packed with emollients like Cocoa and Shea Butters, Jojoba, Apricot Kernel and Avocado oils. Lips are protected with SPF 15, too. I've got Sunset Beach, a warm bronze, and Peach Sorbet, Orchid Pink and Pink Seashell are also out now.
Chanel Le Vernis in Holiday
One of three new shades from Chanel's Summer collection, Holiday is a bright vivid orange that's about as summery as they come. This one joins the permanent line and I'm also tempted by the two limited edition polishes from this collection - Island, a golden beige, and Delight, a shimmery bronze. They're all priced at €21.90.
Clinique Superbalanced Powder Bronzer
This clever mineral bronzer from Clinique, €32, comes with added skin benefits that are a blessing for oily/combination skin. It uses the same technology as the brand's other Superbalanced Makeup products to maintain skin’s moisture balance while controlling oil. It gives a lovely healthy glow, and comes in this gorgeously patterned little drawstring bag.
My fifth pick is coming up a little later!
