Chanel to do Les Trompe L’Oeil: Temporary, rub-on Tattoos. Yes. Really.

Oh Chanel.

You giveth with one hand (put me down for one bottle of Particuliére, pleaseandthankyoumwah) and then you turn around and taketh away with the other.

Possibly drawing inspiration from last year's tribal body art trend and the arms of five-year-old boys, Chanel has gone and added a line of temporary, transfer-stylee, rub-on tats to its arsenal as a form of statement jewellery. As sported by the models on SS10 runways on wrists, necks, shoulders and thighs in the form of garters, there are chain, bead, and floral motifs as well as the brand's iconic entwined double C logo in the Les Trompe L’œil de Chanel range. It'll be available at the Chanel boutique at Brown Thomas from March 1st, comprises of 55 tats, and will cost €55. Very limited, so it will sell out - and there's already a waiting list!

So, do you think Les Trompe L’œil de Chanel are daring? Edgy? Fun? A touch whimsical? Chic ? Beyond cool? Or, are you horrified that Chanel is producing such an item, or that someone would opt to have a brand logo inked on their person, however temporarily? Do you think they're hideous? Chavvy? Naff? Distasteful? Tacky? Lame?

To the comments, people!
