When you hear the word tint, you'd expect the resulting product to have a sheer finish, wouldn't you? You can imagine my surprise then when it came time to test out the new Inglot HD Lip Tints for the very first time to find that the shades weren't glossy, or sheer but in fact opaque, oh, and matte to boot.
Still, a girl can never have too many 'Look at Me!' lipsticks in their arsenal, and to be fair, I do love a good matte lippy.
The ten shades range from natural nudes to bright red, popsicle pink and rich chocolate, so there's plenty of variety to suit different skin tones, and of course preference. Everyone will have a different take on which they like best, but in the name of research I thought it'd be best to opt for three that were completely different so I could test out the wear time and also colour pay off:
- #16: A lovely neutral nude
- #20: A deep plum
- #12: A vibrant cherry red.
One thing you can't fault Inglot on is the amount of pigment in their products, and these lip tints are no different - every shade gives the same dose of creamy colour regardless of whether it's pale, vibrant or dark.
In terms of application, they apply really smoothly, much more than a traditional matte lipstick would - helped along by the doe foot applicator which is just the right size for getting a neat line. The creamy formula becomes a little tacky as it sets, and then once it has, it's on for the day and feels comfortable to wear.
I tried them without any lip liner to see if there was any feathering during the day and there wasn't - which is a major plus for anyone who works long hours and doesn't have time for retouches.
Ingot HD Lip Tint #12
Overall, if you're a fan of matte lip colours then these are definitely worth checking out IMO. Personally, I prefer the vibrant and darker shades because they pack more of a punch, but with ten in the collection, there's something for everyone.
Do these tickle your fancy? Or are you more of a gloss girl?
