Today I wore tuxedo style pants in a marsala shade and shiny brogues. I would have worn a chunky jumper too, but the bright blue sky and shining sun warned me not too. The point is, I carefully planned an autumnal outfit and laid it out last night because, well, it's autumn. As soon as I turned my calendar over to September, that was that. Thank God I'm not going to Electric Picnic - I couldn't force myself to wear shorts at this stage. (But if you are going, here's what you should pack.)
Seasons change, some more successfully than others. Ireland finds it particularly difficult; it would be so much easier for us if we had defined seasons like Canada does and not, A Bit Warmer and A Bit Colder.
Like, some people wear black tights all summer long and I'm not down with that, but if it's 25 degrees out and September? Well, roll those bad boys up and stuff your hooves into a pair of leaf-kicking boots while you're at it!
It's finally time for me to put my BB cream back in its box and bring out my hard working, all covering, cold-weather appropriate foundation once more. I've put away all of my pink lippies too and will be happily smearing plums, maroons and deep reds all over my smackers for the foreseeable future. See ya neon nail polishes, oh hai, greiges.
