Saoirse Ronan is on the campaign trail again. YAY! In 2016, as a multiple-time Best Actress nominee (for Brooklyn), she wore outfit after incredible outfit that had her on all the best-dressed lists. It doesn't even matter if her style is down to one very good stylist; she wears those outfits well, and she clearly has 'a look'. It's young, it's fresh, and sometimes, it's a little risky. Yes, risky, not risqué. Never risqué.
She took a couple of risks last night in New York at the New York Film Critics Awards where she won Best Actress for Lady Bird.

Her outfit screamed neither young nor fresh, but look at her - she's a style chameleon. The jacket may look like it was borrowed from a waiter after she spilt wine down her better-fitting top and the trousers were a bit 'mammy's special pair for funerals', and the shoes were like a last minute decision the stylist made to "make the outfit pop!". But she carries the whole thing off. Maybe it's because she's such a good actress? She can make herself believe that nobody in the room looks better than her. Or maybe it's because she likes a sartorial experiment. When you get to dress up every weekend, you can afford to.
Anway, I like the look. She looks like a fashion person in it and you would too. If you joined your friends for cocktails wearing something like this, you'd be the one getting all the compliments. Saoirse's wet-look slicked-back hairstyle and colourful earrings are the finishing touches, but that marvellous purple lipstick is the cherry on top.
