Beaut.ie Wonders: Can you be too old for outré beauty?

Making lists is one of my very favourite things to do, and of course I have another one on the back burner at the minute. This one, however, isn't comprised of daily tasks and reminders or what to buy on the weekly shop.

It's a list of things to do before I turn 30, and is mostly made up of cool stuff I've always wanted to do but, for one reason or another, just haven't gotten around to - yet. Learning the Thriller dance routine (not joking) and finally deciding once and for all if I'll have laser eye surgery are priorities, but there is one beauty thing that I really, really want to do before I hit that big three-oh in just under a year's time.

I want pink hair.

I've wanted to dye my hair proper shocking pink for as long as I can remember - Jem and My Little Ponies were my early beauty icons, yo - and reckon if I don't take the plunge in the next few months, I never will. I just don't see myself with a head of pink hair into my thirties, y'know?

Zandra Rhodes has never let a little thing like age stop her, though, which makes me wonder if there's really an age past which you can't carry off wild coloured hair or bright lips or statement eyeshadow or fluoro nails.

Is there an age at which you should quit OTT beauty in favour of something more sedate, do you reckon, or is it ok to continue to express your personality through your make-up choices as you grow old disgracefully if you damn well feel like it?
