Rate It: Buy Before You Fly

planeIt's heading into Summer and we're all starting to think about holliers, and heading off to sunnier climes for a bit of an auld break from the grind.

One of my favourite things about flying anywhere is the chance to have a goo in the airport shops, but I'm often disappointed. Dublin is great considering its size and rates pretty highly, but Alicante is bloddy rubbish. Heathrow's Terminal 1 shops for Ireland flights are quite frankly, a travesty, and Dubrovnik is only good for cheap fags and cheaper vodka. I don't smoke, and I don't really like vodka. Sigh. Similarly, JFK isn't all that either.

But - the shopping options in Heathrow's Terminal 3, which I discovered en route to Japan are quite frankly, a thing of joy and wonder. Oh my, it's possible to buy a myriad of amazing cosmetics, designer bags and shoes as well as clothes and - oh, some more makeup. You can choose from Cartier, Shu Uemura, Dior, Gucci, Hermes, Jo Malone, David Clulow, Armani and MAC. Impressed? Oh yeah. International Departures in Gatwick is also swish-tastic - there's a Nine West, and even a Harrods.
