Eye Like It: L'Oreal Paris Chrome Intensity in Blue Jean

I've fallen for another (OH GOD, channeling the Saw Doctors there was completely unintentional. Please forgive me, I know not what I do, etc) L'Oreal Paris Colour Appeal shadow before. It was Chrome Shine in Starry Black, and now that they've sent me another for perusal, I really think this range of peeper-enhancers punches way above its weight for the price.

Before I get stuck in, let me just say one negative thing. I hate the packaging. It's ugly, clunky and in no way an inducement to purchase. I want pretty-looking products in my arsenal and I know I'm not alone. So I just don't understand why the brand can't - or won't - improve the outer casings for their often excellent products.  C'mon guys - make it look good and we'll love you forever.

But that, I am glad to say, is the only poor thing about this. Blue Jean, €7.49, is one of the Chrome Intensity shadows, and is a metallic-tinged Prussian blue. Or navy, if you want to be non-fancy about it.

It's really nice. Smooth, nicely pigmented, easy to use and blend, and the fact it comes in a nice big pan with good longevity all combine to make this a great bargain buy. I like it for a night-time smokey or just worn up to the crease and blended above it with a brush to take the hard edges off. Put a bit of primer on beforehand and it'll stay in place all day (or night) too.
