Incoming from Clinique - new lash flatterer, dark circle corrector and additions to the Chubby family!

Clinique have a few interesting bits and bobs up their sleeves and last week, we met up with them for a looksee at what’s coming down the line.

Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara

First up, launching on August 1st, there’s the new High Impact Extreme Volume mascara - that's it flanked by two Chubbies, above. With lots of mascara offerings you get length or volume - the ones that do both tend to deposit excess product, which leads to messiness, clumps and flaking. Until now! I could waffle on about all the sciencey bits but in layman’s terms, this works so well because it’s a hedgehog and a bog brush, in one. (Read this if you don’t know what I’m on about!)

Basically, the giant bog brush head picks up masses of product but the moulded plastic tines distribute it perfectly through yer lashes – so no clotting or clumping or layering on 63 different coats of mascara, here.  Just long, fanned out, volumised and fluttery lashes - and yep, I'm speaking from experience.

There’s a domed tip, too, for grabbing those stumpy little corner ones and, thanks to conditioning agents - like panthenol and sodium hyaluronate - there’s no crunchiness, either. Which means this is a good ‘un for layering, to take you from day to night. It’s €21.

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector (2)

Those of us with more baggage under our eyes than the Luis Vuitton concession will be interested in another new product that's launching on August 4th. Joining the rest of the Even Better range is this Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector, €38.

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector

Now at Beaut.ie we’re pretty sceptical about eye creams that claim to banish dark circles. But Clinique are at pains to point out that this won’t actually get rid of ‘em – that can’t even be achieved with surgery. (Sob!) Apparently, this stuff is ‘clinically proven to visibly lighten dark circles by 30 percent in 12 weeks’. If you’re wondering how, they point to a cocktail of ingredients like vitamin C and mulberry root, along with something called phytosphingosine - this minimises inflammation in the skin beneath the eyes.

And last but not least, out in September is something I cannot wait to get my grubby little paws on. Hoping to replicate the runaway success of their Chubby Sticks lip pencils – see what we thought of them here and here - the brand are adding to the Chubby family! Up first, Chubby Sticks for eyes  - these will be followed closely by Chubbies for cheeks and we’ll bring you more on both when we have it.

So now – anything piquing your interest from that little lot?
