Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil: nothing compares... nothing compares to Shu

Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil: nothing compares... nothing compares to Shu

I hate when this happens! I just didn't rate this cleanser at all despite thinking I totally would.

I love oil cleansers, make no mistake about it.

I love the way they take off every single scrap of makeup, cleanse your face properly and you don't need to fiddle around with separate eye and face cleansers. We have a lot of love for oil cleansers here - have a read of this.

Sadly though this one just doesn't cut the mustard. It doesn't even take off makeup properly (panda eyes hello) whereas Shu Uemura would have washed the whole lot down the drain. It doesn't seem to emulsify properly - after cleansing you can still feel an oily texture on your skin - and if you rub your face with a towel you'll get foundation marks.

It doesn't cleanse into the pores, my blackheads are even worse if that's possible. I got those horrible spots under the skin (one of them was a monster) that took about a month to come to the surface and pop.

So no. Even though it's made with lovely oils (olive and jojoba, ginger extract), makes skin soft (possibly due to oil residue) and comes in a lovely bottle I think we're going to have to part ways.

Sniff. I'm sorry.
