Essence Cinderella Collection Eye Shadow: Perfect for Playing

Essence Cinderella Collection Eye Shadow: Perfect for Playing

Back we are to Essence and their Cinderella trend edition. I thought the entire collection would be little girlish (well, it has been inspired by the Disney cartoon) and not really for adults but I was wrong.

About the entire collection.

The eye shadow palette is strictly for dress up!

That's not to say it isn't nice - it is - it's just that it's not very sophisticated. The first three colours - pearl, rose and lilac - are lovely for a very (very, very) subtle spring day eye and the end three are just...are just there. Blue is an eye shadow colour I just can't accept, it's too '80s and too My First Eyeshadow-y which is what this palette is, I suppose.

The texture is very nice though, they are soft and silky. The pigment is not at all strong; you would have to layer and layer for ages to get any sort of colour buildup but and when I experimented with an Elsa from Frozen look I discovered that it flakes. I didn't notice with the pearl, rose and lilac shades but the navy flaked all over my face. I wiped it off and then it streaked all over my face.

At €4.79 you are not going to break the bank if you pick it up for a kid's birthday party. I'll be sticking to my usual Isadora nude palette.

We tried the nail polishes from the collection which were great, and we were surprised that we liked the glosses too! If you are putting together a little gift bag for a childer who's into princesses I would go to this collection (and sure I'd throw in the eye shadow too - a mini makeup-ista would definitely appreciate the Cinderella blue.)
