The genius powder that covers greys without leaving a horrible residue

The genius powder that covers greys without leaving a horrible residue

Some root sprays leave hair feeling horrible. If you hate that sensation but love to cover up greys, this could be for you

It's been almost six months since I had a cut or colour and it's finally getting to me. I've gone for this long a few times before, but this time is different because white hairs are springing out of my head at an alarming rate as if to punish me for letting myself go.

I got married in March and for the day, had lovely long brown hair, a little lighter at the ends. It was glossy. It looked healthy. Now, I look like a witch. It doesn't help that my 'letting go' doesn't stop at my hair. I've started wearing less and less makeup and more and more casual jeans, and jumper looks to work. In my defence, I think you can afford to make less of an effort in summer. But - for me - the hair sitch is out of control.

I actually don't really have roots; I have long white strands that try to mingle with the brown. But those guys are not invited to the party! I can't kick them out until I have enough moolah to get the pro at them, though, so these uninvited guests will have to put on a disguise.

EVERPRO Beauty Zero Grey Root Touch-Up Magnetic Powder €11.50

For the past month or so, I've been rubbing this into my hair. I much prefer it to the sprays which can leave hair feeling sticky and looking flat. Because this is a powder, it feels so much nicer in the hair.

Like the WASO moisturiser that I raved about earlier today, this is supposed to adjust from person to person and match the rest of your barnet. It's called magnetic powder because it's supposed to cling to the hair like a magnet would - and it does.

I use the little sponge that's hidden at the bottom of the dinky little container, and while it works well for painting the length of the hair, I might switch to a brush for roots. Once it's on, it's on. You don't have to worry about it wearing off, and you can remove it with your regular shampoo.

I won't leave my next cut and colour as long as I did this time, but this is what I'll use between appointments forever more.
