Let's help save the world with eco friendly glitter

Glitter is a big contributor to the micro plastics that litter our environment and pollute the ocean. We have found an eco friendly glitter solution.

I am one of those people who is a guilty meat-eater. I have to put my hands up and say that for years I have consumed all things beauty without a thought to the manufacturing process. Unfortunately, I love all the things that I shouldn't (like glitter). Slowly but surely I am becoming much more aware of the damaging effects of consumerism to the environment. It's time - actually, it's well past the time - for everyone to be aware and start to make some changes, starting with eco-friendly glitter!

At this time of year, glitter is everywhere. As a makeup artist, Christmas is the time of year I get asked for lots of glitter. I love to add some sparkle to eyeshadow for a little extra twinkle during the festive season. To be honest it never occurred to me that glitter is so harmful to the environment. As it is generally not biodegradable it stays on the earth forever. A scary thought.

We have done a little bit of research to find sparkles that we can wear guilt-free. This eco-friendly glitter is made of 100% biodegradable cellulose film. The raw materials they use are sustainably sourced, cruelty-free and cosmetic grade so they are safe to put on your face and body.

So if you're feeling a little guilty about your carbon footprint but you still feel the need for sparkle in your life, here are a couple of places you can find guilt-free glitter.
