Did you know there's a powder version of Strobe Cream?

Want to get the strobe cream glow, without the shine?

I would bet good money that anyone reading this has probably owned (or at least tried) Strobe Cream at one time or other in their life. Whether it was recommended by a friend or something you just heard about on the grapevine, we've all given the glowy stuff a try. Now, whether or not you love Strobe Cream is another matter altogether.

Opinion can definitely be divided on this. Usually, that stems from the fact there are lots of different ways to use it. The most common way is to mix it in with your foundation to create a dewy glow to the skin. This works beautifully on some people, but on others, it just looks shiny or even greasy. Personally, I prefer to use it more sparingly, picking out parts of the face to highlight such a cheekbones, brow bones etc. Basically, if your skin is in any way oily, it's best to play it safe and avoid the whole T-zone area.

In saying that, though, cream products aren't for everyone. You might have found that using it made foundation slide off your face half way through the day, or that you had to powder over it so much it ended up looking matte. Which is why I wanted to introduce you to (what I'm calling) the "powder version of Strobe Cream".

Lightscapade (€31.50) is as close to Strobe powder form as you'll find. I'm not sure how long it's been around for, but it's a fairly recent find for me and I love it. It has the same mother of pearl tones which shimmer on the skin in delicate pale pink, champagne and pale blue and because it's from the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish collection the texture is light as air.

You can use it as a highlighter or as a light all over finishing powder to give skin a gentle, subtle glow the same as Strobe cream but without developing shine. That, of course, makes it a great alternative for anyone who has oilier skin or wants a longer lasting base for the day.

Have you tried Lightscapade before? Or are you a Strobe Cream fan through and through?
