Blush is Back: How to update your spring makeup

Blush is Back: How to update your spring makeup

It's a new year which means new spring makeup trends! We're loving the simple, fresh-faced SS18 vibes.

Spring makeup usually means fresh skin, and that's something we can totally get on board with. Over the winter a lot of us veer towards more matte bases as well as contouring and highlighting techniques. But this season it's all about simplicity and luminous complexions.

One of the biggest changes in this season's makeup bag essentials is that contour kits have been swapped for blusher. Yep, our old friend, who has been a little neglected is back in a big way for SS18. There is a twist of course (it wouldn't be fashion without it) as this season focuses on sheer, luminous, cream and liquid textures. All of which will give skin a beautiful glowing finish, huzzah!

The good news is that whenever a product comes back in vogue, there are always new launches to look forward to. So mark our words, there will be plenty of new cream and liquid blushers to look forward to this year in tones ranging from pink to peach and more besides.

If you're in the mood to try out the trend right now though, here are a few of my favourite sheer blushers. Alternatively, you can use a lipstick as a blusher, or even a tinted lip balm or gloss for added high shine!
