If you liked the sound of the new YSL Babydoll mascara but can't quite bring yourself to shell out the required €32.50, then this latest Rimmel offering might be just what you need.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara is all about the drama: lashes are thicker, fuller and longer in just one coat.

This product is all about creating the modern day equivalent of the big, bold, wide-eyed lash looks of the 60s mod.

The brush is an hour-glass shape, created to echo the lashline and push lashes up and out for a full on flutter.

I generally find that mahoosive mascara brushes can be a little bit messy and this was no exception - but I think the results are worth it.

It manages to grab and coat every lash and, despite being tested in very warm weather conditions, there was no flaking or smudging throughout the day.

Clumping is minimal but it's not as buildable as Rimmel's last offering - you can expect a few if you keep lashing it on. It's so high impact though that I don't see why you'd need to - two coats really is enough.

Priced at €8.99, this is out now - so if you've tried it, do share how you got on!
