POLL - Tax on texting: I'm free to text what I want any old time

Oh Jesus Christ I can't believe I sent that to HIM last night

With the prospect of the Budget looming over us like a dark evil cloud, new and inventive ways to further tax the life out of us are being discussed. The idea of a tax on text messaging was first floated earlier in the year and now seems to be gaining popularity in some (mainly opposition) quarters again.

Here's how it would work. Every time you send a text there would be a 1c charge.

As of now there is no extra charge for sexting, or fines being levied on drunk texting. But the fine probably comes in the form of the shame and regret you feel the next morning after sending ten identical texts to your ex - and getting no reply.

STLL LOVE U. EVEN THO U R A BASTARD. WANT 2 HOOK UP????
