WIN! Fantastic Sample Programme Kits from Ormonde Jayne

WIN! Fantastic Sample Programme Kits from Ormonde Jayne
By Beaut.ie  | Feb 10, 2009

Before Christmas, posh London perfumery Ormonde Jayne sent me a beautifully packaged sample kit of their fragrance range. It's such a smart little box, and it contains 11 eau de parfum-strength vials of some of their most beautiful scents. This is a really nice way to sample the brand's entire offering without shelling out for a regular size perfume, having it arrive only to discover that er, it didn't work quite so well with your body chemistry.

More niche than a brand like Jo Malone, with beautiful be-ribboned Hermes-inspired wrapping and boxes, Ormonde Jayne scents are more complex than the single or double note fragrances we've come to love from the former, and might well appeal to those who find that Malone's ranges lack complexity.

So, what do I like? After some extensive sprayin', the three I'd use my flexible friend for are Champaca, a neroli and magnolia-alike spritz, Osmanthus, a fruity floral and Zizan, a bright, zesty citrus with almost piney base notes.  No surprises there - I'm a white florals and citrus fan to the core, and these sort of scents always float my boat.

This kit is perfect, in fact, for the assertive gal who won't wait around for someone to give her a Valentine's gift - this is ideal for a bit of February self-gifting, and given the current exchange rate,  I have to say I reckon £35 is a good price for the Sample Programme. Postage is free in any case, so it'll set you back about €40 at the moment.

But sure here, you know we're really good to you, so we have TWO to give away!

UPDATE! The lucky winners are Kelly Mofflin, Dublin 6 and Ruth Nicholson, Galway. Congrats gals!
