As part of the Rouge Eclat collection for spring, Clarins has launched two new shades of Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick, which are just divine. Watermelon is a bright coral pink while Sweet Plum is a pinkish purple - both are really fresh and pretty shades which give a flattering lift to the complexion.
A real treat for dry, parched winter lips, the formula is buttery, intensely moisturising and an absolute pleasure to wear. Both yammy and jammy, these deliver a juicy shine, a pretty glaze of colour and a translucent, lightly sparkling finish that's perfect for daytime wear. Both shades are shot through with an iridescent shimmer which plumps up the lips but doesn't feel or look too glittery or OTT.
Swatches: Sweet Plum on left, Watermelon on right
While these are definitely on the sheer side they are still quite pigmented - they're much more than a tinted lipbalm - which makes them a good choice if you're looking for something with decent payoff, but that's easy to wear and apply.
Not a pout in sight! Watermelon left, Sweet Plum right
The fact that these are packaged in rounded silver bullets as opposed to the brand's signature gold suggests they could be aimed at a younger audience - the packaging doesn't feel quite as high end, but the product itself should go down well with all ages. If you're a fan of the Dior Addicts or Addict Extremes, Clinique Chubby Sticks or the Revlon Lip Butters, then these should be right up your street.
Like all Clarins lipsticks, they're subtly fragranced with blackcurrant which could be an issue for some of you who avoid scented products. Personally, I love it - they smell absolutely delicious, not synthetic or nasty at all. I'm really enjoying these and Watermelon in particular is getting lots and lots of use.
Clarins Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick are €20 and on counter now. Have you tried these, or are you tempted?
