Ah, sometimes you have to be philosophical about things. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, y'know?  Although in this case, it was more like Dior giveth and Dior taketh away, as the joy and excitement I felt on opening their latest mascara was matched only by my disappointment on realising it was brown. Feckin' brown.

Now no offence if you are a brown mascara wearer, I am sure it looks lovely on you, but with my black eyelashes and brown eyes it does absolutely nothing for me. However, trooper that I am, I set about diligently trialling and testing it inanyways. And preparing a slightly creepy looking wall of eyes for you in the process. You're welcome.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl

Shade choice aside, this is an incredibly exciting new launch from Dior. Well, exciting if you're at all into makeup that is, because Dior mascaras are really something special. Diorshow is one of those cult favourites that beauty editors and makeup artists are always banging on about and seems to be a backstage staple during fashion weeks around the world. Diorshow Iconic took it one step further - read our full review - and now Diorshow Iconic Overcurl has arrived.

Featuring a new curved brush and a fancy, high-tech, volume boosting formula, Overcurl gives a lovely fluttery doe-eyed type of look that won't smudge or flake, and is easy to remove. Plus, it promises to actually stimulate lash growth and renewal for a fuller flutter over time. I can't speak to that, but it does lengthen and curl my stubby little lashes in quite a natural looking way. Yes, even in the brown.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Swatches

From top: no mascara, mascara on one eye only, one coat, two coats

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl is on counter now priced at €32.50, alongside some new Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow shades and a very interesting sounding new eyeliner pen. I'll be grabbing the mascara in black, fo' sho', and if you're in the market for a new lash flatterer, this is definitely worth a look. Have you tried it, or any of the other Diorshow products?
