Gosh Mineral Waterproof Eyeshadows: Pictures & Swatches

These Mineral Waterproof Eyeshadows, €9.99, are a relatively new addition from Gosh, and come in four colours: bronze, gold, silver, and lilac. At first glance they're a lot like those shadesticks Mac did at one point except a lot creamier and softer.

Promising excellent colour pay-off and a waterproof, smudge-proof finish that has long wear properties (Gosh define that as more than four hours which seems a little short) there are 10 shades in total - but we'll just see the four featured above on the Irish market. So, do they live up to the budge-proof promise?

Nope. These don't actually set from what I can tell. While I haven't tested them in wear on my eyes, 10 minutes after swatching (and I tested a Giorgio Armani pencil with similar claims in the same session that hadn't budged six hours later) these all blurred across my hand at a light touch; this is a test I'd always put a long-wear budge-proof pencil or stick under. And unfortunately these Gosh shadows failed it.

So I'd say the claim is exaggerated but that primer or setting them with a matching shadow would help. The colours are pretty and the gold and copper shades in particular would be very nice worked into smokey eye or neutral looks. They're also paraben free, which may be a strong selling point for some.

Have you tried them?
