Could they be any good? I have been through a succession of frightening looking mechanical ones over the years but I've stopped bothering in the past while - I was getting a bit fed up with that sort of unnatural looking bent at an angle effect my (cheapo) ones were giving me.
I am a bit intrigued by these heated ones that have appeared in the past couple of years though. Instead of the traditional pinching mechanism that I so dislike, they have a mascara brush type wand. You let it heat for about 15 seconds, then sweep it over lashes to create a proper uplifting curl that apparently lasts for hours. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Also, since they're battery powered, I think this means I'd buy one battery for it and then never replace it ever again.
As Seen on Screen are selling heated eyelash curlers in their clearance section at the moment, and I am tempted, despite my misgivings. They're reduced to €14.72 from €22.08 which is a pretty decent saving. But you always get hammered on shipping with ASOS, so the saving you make would probably get eaten up by the postage.
