MAC Launch Baby Bloom and Love That Look

MAC's August launches are looking rather splendid: July brought us just one I got excited by, Colour Craft, leaving me a little nonplussed by the Naked Honey body line. Probably partly because I mainly just really love their colour cosmetics and find that's what they excel at, and partly because I don't really like things that smell like, um, honey.

Next month we're going to be treated to a triple whammy of colour - in addition to Baby Bloom and Love That Look, which I'm blogging about today, there's also Euristocrats 2, a collection of seven Lipsticks, seven Dazzleglasses and four Lip Pencils. Colours include corals, violets and plums. Delish. But MAC roll out lipsticks and glosses in pretty much every collection, so lets focus on the two collections that are getting my serious attention.

Baby Bloom is short and sweet. Featuring five Studio Moisture Tints with SPF15, €29, there are also five Suntints Liquid Lip Balm with SPF20, €17.  The former are sheer coverage tinted moisturisers and the latter are balmy lip tints with a hint of colour. The good news? The five Studio Moisture Tints will remain in the catalogue - hurray! So if you love 'em, you can keep on buying them - more of this, MAC, please.

Oh - the bad news? Well, it's not really bad at all, it's just that in colour-depth terms, the names of the products are the key - tints are what's on offer here, as opposed to full-on saturated shades. That makes everything great great for day, or for wear in the heat when you want a wee bit of coverage, but nothing major.

Love That Look is the one that's had blogs ablaze in the past while  - it's also being called Starflash, and that's because it's a collection of 12 of MAC's Starflash eye shadows. Pearl-finished, they're shimmery and frosted, so not going to appeal to mattes fans, but if you love a bit of dazzle you'll go for these.

All 12 shadows are limited and range from peach, gold and taupe right through to violet, chartreuse and red-brown. Above you can see (I think) Fashion, bottom and Fashion Groupie, top. All shadows cost €15, but there's more on offer: four Pearlglide Eyeliners, €17, are available too.

All three collections will be on counter in August.
