Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF 15: Lightweight and wonderful

When I first tried a Mac foundation a couple of years ago I was expecting great things. But I couldn’t get on with Studiofix, it just didn’t suit my skin.  So I wasn’t really expecting great things from their Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation.

There are two main issues for me when it comes to picking a summer foundation; staying power and coverage. The lighter formulation foundations look great when they’re first applied but tend to just slip off the oilier parts of my combination skin quickly.  The heavier coverage foundations have staying power but they cling to my drier areas plus I can never achieve that ‘no make-up’ look I’d like with them.

Luckily for me, Mac have nailed summer foundation with their Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation. A light to medium coverage buildable

It’s moisturizing, gives a nice dewy, natural finish and (with a light dusting of Mac Mineralize Skinfinish powder) its got serious staying power.

Recently I applied this around 9am, got on a plane, a bus AND the London underground, didn’t look in a mirror until about 10pm and it survived! Needless to say I was deeply impressed. And the genius of it is that it’s sheer enough to FOOL people into thinking I just have really nice skin. You can still see freckles and everything! Magic.

If you like your foundation very matte, this may not be for you, but I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a long-lasting fresh faced look.

Has anyone else tried Mineralize? And does anyone have any lightweight foundation recommendations?
