Marc Jacobs in Most Pointless Perfume Launch EVA

Flipping through the current issue of Look magazine in the little corner Eason's in Heuston last night while waiting for the queue for my train to abate (and hoping they weren't going to kick me out for non-buying browsing), a picture of a snazzy looking bottle of perfume caught my eye. I scanned the text that accompanied the image of Marc Jacob's 'Daisy' scent topped by green flowers, eager to see what this new version would smell like, and discovered that it smells exactly like the original fragrance. In fact-eh, it is the original fragrance, the only difference with this ooh-look-buy-it-quick limited edition is literally the colour of the petals on its lid.

Oh wait, I tell a lie - unlike the bog standard white petal topped version, it also comes with a "playful array of stickers" so that you can "personalise your bottle to match your own brand of whimsy".

Now I love a bit of cute 'n' kooky as much as the next Hello Kitty or Zooey Deschanel fan, but even I have to wonder if Marc Jacobs is taking the mick with this stunt. Is the same man who does such a spectacular range of totally covetable grown-up handbags seriously giving away stickers with his new pretend-y limited edition Scint? What age are we, like? Five? And the bloody bottle's actually way nicer with just the regular white daisies! Sheesh!
