Give Dramatic Eyes A Lash: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

I don't really believe in daytime mascara. I like my lashes to be huge and fluttery at all times, from day to night.

I'm always on the lookout for another volume-boosting, curl-enhancing mascara to add to my collection. So far, Maybelline Cat Eyes and the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascaras are the JOB, but there's always room for more in my make-up bag.

Impressed by the new Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush's rather boastful name, I decided to give it a try and see if it fulfilled my desire for night-time eyelashes at 6am in the morning.

The Mega Plush (priced €11.99) leaves lashes super soft and catches every one, including those ever-elusive lashes at the corners of your eyes, which are imperative in creating a super doll-eyed look. There's none of that horrid crunchiness, and it's nice and lightweight.

It features what Maybelline call the Flexor Brush, which is supposed to make it easy to reach those tricky lashes, but I wouldn't be trying to bend it too much. It makes the brush feel a little delicate - like a vigorous application or being a little too forceful with returning it to the bottle would cause it to snap.

Despite its name, to me the Mega Plush mascara is definitely more suited to daytime - the formula offers little in terms of thickness and volume, but lifts and separates the lashes beautifully for a very pretty, doe-eyed look. You might think it looks pretty dramatic, but I need MORE.

I don't know how everyone feels about layering mascara (Is that something I should be doing? Let me know) but when I added Rimmel's new-ish Lycra Flex mascara on top of the Mega Plush, my lashes looked INSANE. Proper huge, fluttery goodness.

Bold, perhaps. OTT, maybe. But I can't get enough of dramatic lashes - how about you?
