Savage Out Lads

scrubI've always thought that one of the things that can put people off going organic with their skincare is the packaging. Unfortunately, it often doesn't really look all that great, and while that shouldn't be an issue, lets face it - we do go for fancy packaging, shallow creatures that we are. So if you haven't yet dipped your pretty little toes into the wonderful waters of organics, then Savage Beauty may well be your introduction.

It's a brand that only uses renewable source materials, gorgeous ingredients like fruit and botanical extracts and of course, absolutely no parabens or phalates. There's more clever thinking where that lot came from as well - bottles are black because it's a colour that protects and energizes the healing properties of the products and maintains the highest levels of quality over a long period, and all products are dispensed by pump. And of course, there's no animal testing.

I've been using Savage Beauty Natural AHA Exfoliating Scrub from purelyu.com recently and it really does live up to all the claims made for the brand. The ingredients are a laundry list of gorgeous fruit extracts and oils - pear, jojoba, tangerine, olive, passionfruit, pineapple and geranium all feature, so as you can imagine, it smells deeelicious.

It's also lovely to use. Unlike some scrubs, it's not gritty but equally the particles that will exfoliate the dead skin cells off aren't too large either. Scrubs often seem to fall into two unhappy camps - really harsh on the skin, or ineffective due to the fact that the exfoliant in them is too big to properly get into the pores. Not so with this one - it's comfortable to use and leaves skin sweetly scented, smooth and calm.
