SS11: Bobbi Brown Python and Peony Palette + Swatches

bobbi brown

I jes' caint resist a palette from that there Bobbi Brown.  Peony and Python looked good in pixels when we previewed it and it's even nicer in the flesh.

The Tibi-designed fabric-covered case is rigid and zippy and contains six shadows, a decent mirror and two dinky brushes.

So, lets take a closer look at the shadows, shall we? I'll gloss over the fact there's no actual need for three only very slightly different shots of the colours - but hey, shadow porn!

Of the six shades, the first two on the top row are very sheer and shimmery, delivering a wash of colour. There's one very pretty pale matte grey up there too, with just a hint of lilac. The bottom three pack in a good bit more of a colour punch, and the two darkest shades are mattes.  The best shade for me is the one bottom left - it's one of those deceptively good greys that has lots of depth and shine and almost an olive tone on skin. Lovely altogether.

Try as I might, I could not get a good on-skin swatch of the lot of 'em together. We can alternately blame my (poor) photography skills and the dark winter light for that.

This is officially on counter from March 1st for €45, but spies inform us that it's already on sale at Brown Thomas Dublin. As this is limited, you know the drill: get down there quick if you want some python and peony action for your very own self.
