Cheap and cheerful strobe cream dupes that rival the original

MAC's Strobe Cream is often seen as the queen of highlighters. We love the glow it gives to skin. But we've found some great dupes that give the same effect, without needing to splash the cash.

Strobe Cream is an absolute makeup cult classic and one that we love dearly here at Beaut HQ. It's as iconic as Touch Eclat, Double Wear or Secret Camouflage. And a secret weapon for skin that's looking a little lacklustre. Think of it as the beauty equivalent to that one friend who always manages to make you smile, even after a particularly bad day.

MAC Strobe Cream €34

One of the things we love about Strobe is that it is versatile. You can wear it underneath makeup to create an under glow or mix it in with foundation for a more dewy effect. If you prefer a more subtle approach, try tapping it onto cheekbones, and on the inner corner of eyes to create more precise highlights.

As with any cult classic products, Strobe Cream has inspired a lot of dupes over the years. Some good, some not so good. We've picked out two that are our favourites that will give you the same effect, but help save the pennies too!

CYO Illuminating Mixing Cream €8

CYO is the budget brand that everyone is raving about at the moment. It's affordable and has some serious little gems in the collection. One of which is the Illuminating Mixing Cream in Turn on the Light. The tone, texture and feel is so similar to the original Strobe Cream that it'll only be your bank balance that can tell them apart.

When it comes to high street brands, Rimmel is always a safe pair of hands. From their brilliant mascaras and foundations to top-notch concealers, and now highlighters. We love this one in particular because it blends beautifully into skin and isn't too glittery. Use it alone to give skin a brighter, healthy appearance or mix it into foundation for a soft focus, dewy effect.

Are you a fan of these dupes? Do you have any others to recommend?
