To the Test: L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara

Like most women, I am constantly on the hunt for the pièce de résistance of the mascara world, even if I’ve already found what I believe to be my Holy Grail product. Companies like L’Oréal, Maybelline and Benefit have raised the bar in recent years with revolutionary new formulas that promise to transform lashes into sultry and elongated works of art. Sure it would be rude not to try them!

I often find that drugstore mascaras are as good if not better than their higher end counterparts, so when I discover a great cheap as chips offering worth shouting about, well, I do.

Want some seriously feline lashes without the aid of eyelash curlers and awkward false eyelash applications? Look no further than L’Oréal’s latest take on their iconic Volume Million Lashes formula. What’s new, you ask? Well, firstly this flexible mascara wand is now arched to reach and coat every lash from the root to tip. This mascara is particularly suitable for use as a bottom lash mascara and the formula is infused with Camellia and Argan oil which should condition your lashes and keep your peepers pretty.

Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara

The blackest black formula is quite wet upon application but not unbearably so and it does manage to deliver on its promise of beautiful voluptuous lashes. Best of all, you would have to really work at getting your clumpy lash game on, so if you’re like me and want dramatic lashes all day every day then you will love this product. All you’ll need is 2 - 3 coats of this baby and you’ll be ready to hit the town.

Suffice to say I really am enjoying this mascara, but the money question is, would I repurchase and how does it compare to the original?

The original Volume Million Lashes is hands down my favourite mascara of Life. It is jet black, reaches every little teeny weeny lash, builds serious volume and gives me the lift and separation I’m after. The packaging on both looks quite luxe, like that of a higher end mascara, and they blow Maybelline’s gaudy coloured tubes out of the water.

Of the two I do still prefer the OG of the Volume Million Lashes series, but the Feline offering is not far behind. If volume is what you’re after or you just want a good all-rounder stick with the original formula; however if you’re after killer length with a great non-crispy formula try L’Oréal’s Volume Million Lashes Feline mascara.

It is a little spendy for a drugstore product coming in at €14.99, but Boots are doing an aul 3 for 2 at the moment so go on, treat yourself.
