The SAG Awards take place tomorrow, January 30th, so I had a look back over last year's red carpet and was reminded again by how much more inventive and creative these events have got over the past year. We all long for a Swan Dress or Cher moment (why doesn't Cher go to more celeb events? Why?) and over the past couple of years there has been nothing of the sort. It's been black or cream gowns with the odd splash of navy or red. Bor-ring.
Could Lupita Nyong’o have something to do with it? When she was nominated for all the awards (all of them) back in 2014 she was THE one to watch on every red carpet and she still turns head at every event she attends. Think back and agree with me; the other celebs started to get jealous of her colourful ensembles and decided to move away from the blah side. Except Jennifer Aniston but she's allowed. Emma Stone did arrive in black but her weird, wonderful jacketskirt called for it. Funeral chic at its best.
